Frequently Asked Questions

Sunlight filtering through tall trees in a dense forest at dusk.

How much does it cost to take down a tree?

Every job is a little bit different and there are a lot of variables that are considered when determining the price. These include: species, location, hazards, size, obstacles, limb quantity, expected cleanliness and more.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes! We are licensed through the Oregon Construction Contractors Board and are endorsed to work on residential and commercial projects.

CCB# 213167.

We carry a $1,000,000 occurrence $2,000,000 aggregate general liability insurance policy to protect our clients' property. We also hold a $20,000 CCB Resiential Contractor's Bond.

Will you clean up the mess?

Of course! Unless you don't want us to... (see next question)

Our standard jobs include removal of the brush and wood as well as a thorough raking and dust blowing.

How can I make it cheaper?

On the front end and the back end. You can reduce the cost on the front end by preparing the job site. This includes moving pots, planters and yard ornaments, clearing a path or dropping utilities.

A large part of the cost in tree work lies in the clean up. A common way for customers to cut cost is by doing some of the cleanup themselves. Ask during your consultation and we can customize a plan to fit your needs and budget.

Where will the wood go? Can I keep it? Will you take it away?

You have many options for handling the wood. If you want to keep the wood for yourself or a friend, you are welcome to it. We can buck it into firewood, long/short logs, or leave it for you to cut. If you don't want the wood, we can get it hauled away or you can donate it to one of the many local charities.

Where do the chips go?

As the customer, you get first pick at keeping the wood chips that come from your tree. Otherwise, we have several people around town that we deliver the chips to for their gardens and pathways.

Can I get some free wood chips?

Our woodchips are offered for free, and therefore have the following criteria:

  • We save your address, name and phone number on a digital map. When we are doing a job, we look to see who is closest to the jobsite. As a result, we may have chips for you tomorrow, next month, next year, or never… just depends.
  • We need firm and mostly flat ground.
  • There must be enough room to back in an oversized pickup truck.
  • Must have at least 15’ of overhead clearance.
  • The chips might be very woody; they might be very brushy, leafy or stringy. Some rakings of twigs, leaves, needles, gravel or small trash may be included. Pieces of wood may be included.
  • A load can be as much as 13 yards, and will rarely be less than 4 yards. When dumped it will spill out to 9’ wide on the bottom, 4’ tall and 12’ long. (Approximately)
  • Species will vary. If there is a specific species that you cannot take (Black Walnut bad for horses) we will accommodate the best we can.
  • If all of this is suitable to you, please send me your name, address and description of your preferred dumpsite. You can text to 541-961-4100 or use the Request a Quote link.
